Ben and Tom Birchall arrived in Douglas, Isle of Man ahead of the 2013 TT races and are now preparing the outfit for their first practice session which is scheduled for Saturday evening.
Having recorded two podium finishes in last year’s races the Mitchells of Mansfield supported brothers will be hoping for more of the same this time around.
Ben and Tom made their debut at the TT in 2009 and riding the Manx Gas sponsored LCR Honda F2 outfit supported by former world champion Klaus Klaffenbock they have some of the best equipment on the island.
Despite suffering a heavy crash during practice in 2012 the pair rode to a brace of podium finishes, second in race one and third in the second three lap encounter to record their best results to date.
“The preparation has all gone perfectly this year,” said Ben. “The team is a year older and stronger with more experience so whatever the TT throws at us this year you can be sure that we will have given it our best shot.
“The 37.73-mile long Mountain Road course has over 200 corners which is a lot to learn but, this is our third year in a row here at the TT and our track knowledge is all coming together now.”
Practice begins on Saturday through to Friday, May 31 ahead of the first three-lap race which is scheduled for 2pm on Saturday, June 1. The second race is on Wednesday, June 5 at 2.15pm and is again run over three laps.
